The MPEG-2 Encoder receives at its input the standard composite video signal and the associated sound signal and after digitizing and compressing according to the MPEG-2 standard outputs them at its ASI or IP output in SPTS (Single Program Transport Stream) format.
The MPEG-2 Encoders support NIT/SDT inserting and aspect ratio adjusting.
The following settings are available:
AUTO: the WSS (wide screen signalling) signal in the input video sets the output aspect ratio
MANUAL: the user sets the desired (4:3 or 16:9) output aspect ratio
Features:
• Base-band PAL/NTSC composite video inputs and dual channel audio inputs
• ASI outputs (CW-4888 and CW-4887 respectively) or common unicast/multicast IP output (CW-4987, CW-4988)
• Extensively programmable MPEG-2 encoders with SPTS output
• Stereo, joint stereo, dual and mono sound mode
• 32, 44.1 and 48 kHz sampling frequency, 50/15 µs and J17 audio emphasis
• Programmable output picture resolution: D1, 3/4 D1, 2/3 D1, 1/2 D1, SIF, QSIF
• Preconfigured NIT and SDT data inserting
• 4:3, 16:9 and WSS auto aspect ratios are supported
